Create a freeze frame in DaVinci Resolve

Video Notes

In DaVinci Resolve, if you go to ClipFreeze Frame, it will turn your entire clip into a freeze frame. If you want to just isolate a single frame in a clip as a freeze frame, do this instead:

  • Use the Blade tool to make a cut where you want the freeze frame to occur
  • Use the right arrow on your keyboard to move the playhead over one frame and make another cut with the Blade tool at this point
  • Right-click the resulting single frame and choose Change Clip Speed
  • In the options that pop-up, check off Freeze Frame
  • You can stretch out clip to increase the duration of the freeze frame
